However, there are some buildings that are not just stone and brick; they are the very memory of a nation's struggle for existence, heroism and the memory of the city. The Historical Inebolu Military Branch, which was put into service in 1891, carries exactly such a monumental value.

Coordination Center of the National Struggle
The historical Military Branch has a meaning far beyond being just a military building. During the years of the War of Independence, it served as one of the most vital command and coordination centers of the Independence Road, the lifeblood of Anatolia. The transfer of the ammunition carried by the valiant boatmen of Inebolu from the sea to the front was planned between the determined walls of this center. This building is one of the places where our liberation epic was written.

Crossroads with Turkish Literature
The story of this historical building is not only limited to military achievements, but is also deeply connected to our literary history. The first president of the branch was Captain Ömer Şevki Bey, the father of Ömer Seyfettin, the master of our literature. Due to this appointment, a part of Ömer Seyfettin's childhood was spent in this historical atmosphere of İnebolu, and the rich inner world of the writer was perhaps shaped for the first time in these lands.

A History Abandoned to Its Fate
Unfortunately, this precious building, which sheds light on the Independence Road, hides the childhood steps of one of the great masters of our literature and was once used as a prison, is in a heartbreaking state today. The current state of the Military Branch, which is in ruins and abandoned to its fate, is not only an architectural loss; it is a great disloyalty to our ancestors who entrusted this homeland to us with a thousand difficulties, labor and blood.

Take Action to Be the Voice of History
Keeping the spirit of a city alive is only possible by protecting its historical texture with the meticulousness of a “city detective”, by recognizing each stone as a relic of the past and by the ideal of transforming it into a museum city. In a city where historical buildings are on the verge of collapse, memory begins to be erased.

We ask you to visit the Historical Military Branch when you are in Inebolu, despite all its weariness and neglect. Go, touch those walls and share your feelings and thoughts out loud. Photograph it, talk about it and bring it to the agenda. Share it so that we can raise awareness; let's not let this valuable heritage disappear any further and ensure that it is restored as soon as possible and restored to the cultural treasure of Inebolu. Let's not forget, protecting our history is our greatest civic duty!

Milli Mücadele yıllarında, Anadolu’nun can damarı olan İstiklal Yolu’nun en hayati komuta ve koordinasyon merkezlerinden biri olarak görev yapmıştır.

[56,26,54
["post-5405","gezi_noktasi","type-gezi_noktasi","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-istiklal-yolu","category-tarihi-yerler","category-tarihin-izinde
["GET
