A Rooted City, A Rooted Maritime Culture
As Inebolians, as the descendants of those heroic bargemen, even though we have moved away from our original identities, even though we are disloyal to the memories and cultures of our fathers and grandfathers, just like the seed sprouting among the rocks, that deep-rooted culture tries to somehow survive from time to time.
This city is home to one of the last of the great masters Mustafa Yasar’Unfortunately, he was not appreciated. However, after him, another valiant master came out to shoulder this legacy.
As a result of the vision and initiatives of District Governor Ahmet Vezir Baycar, who served in İnebolu between 2021-2024, the boat master Mehmet Aksoy a new Denk Boat was constructed by the Denk Boat. This lonely boat, completely faithful in form to the original but utilizing modern techniques in its construction, is now on display just at the beginning of the Boyran coast.
God willing, these are valuable efforts, “Museum City” Inebolu will set an example for an Inebolu that works with the goal of building and exhibiting dozens more of these heroic boats on our coasts.
