When you direct your steps uphill from the streets of Inebolu that meet the sea, you will come across the historical stairs that carry the city from the center to the top. This route, which starts from Mustafa Kemal Pasha Street in Aşağıhatıpbağı Neighborhood and reaches to the upper parts of the old hospital in Yukarıhatıpbağı Neighborhood, offers its visitors a different time travel to the past of the city with its approximately 400 steps. At every step you take, the beautiful wooden houses of our traditional civil architecture that accompany you along the way whisper the old neighborhood culture of the city.

However, the current state of this historical texture draws a tired picture rather than the splendor of the past. The middle part of the staircase, which consists of three main sections, has unfortunately completely lost its historical characteristic due to the interventions made over time. The other two sections, which have preserved their original structure, are quite neglected, worn out and almost abandoned to their fate in the memory of the city. As you climb up the steps, you trace the traces of history, while at the same time you face the bitter reality of the current neglect of the place.

Still, hope is alive. Target 2030 Museum City Inebolu We believe that with the awareness that the vision will bring to the city, these historical stairs will also receive the value they deserve. Our expectation is that those tired sections that have survived to the present day will be meticulously restored in accordance with the original and the middle part, which has lost its feature, will be rebuilt by being faithful to the historical identity of the city. When this integrity is achieved, these 400 steps connecting the past and the present will no longer be just a physical slope; it will turn into a complete and honorable time tunnel that keeps the unique spirit of history alive in every step taken on the streets of Inebolu.
