This stone, which has an inscription written in old letters, seems like an ordinary monument at first glance, but as you get closer, it whispers a deep story of sacrifice and loyalty that will make you tremble inside. This is the monument of Dr. İsmail Hakkı Bey of Tosyalı, the first medical martyr in the history of medicine to have a monument erected in his name out of gratitude by the public.

Stand in front of the monument and listen to the years of the First World War, a century ago... Imagine that young doctor who was the light of hope in those dark days when the people of Inebolu were ravaged by a relentless cholera epidemic and 7-8 people lost their lives every day. A young doctor who rushed to the aid of his patients day and night Dr. Ismail Hakki Bey, With superhuman effort, he manages to stop the epidemic. However, while healing others, he himself contracted the disease and was martyred at a young age.

The grateful people of Inebolu, who burst into tears, never forget their gratitude to this fierce doctor who kept them alive at the cost of their own lives.
