One of the most beautiful reflections of these historical textures is Tevfikiye Mosque, one of the three important historical mosques in the center of the district, popularly known as the New Mosque.
The story of Tevfikiye Mosque begins with the initiatives of Tevfik Efendi, the mayor of the time. The foundation of the building was laid in 1908, and it was completed and opened for worship in 1915; the elegant minaret was added a few years later.
